Thermo Scientific - SOLAAR

These are icons for a refresh of a control and anaylysis software package for a series of spectrometers made by Thermo Scientific. The palette is muted with bright colours only used for accents and alerts. Icons for technical software is one of our specialities - we're not daunted by technology or science!

Cabinet Vision is a CAD/CAM application that converts kitchen designs into reality. It uses solid modeling technology to create true three-dimensional presentations of the final product on-screen, while simultaneously generating the necessary information for the shop floor.

Group 1 Software - Message 1

A set of icons in the Vista style for an appplication that inserts marketing messages in, amongst other things, letters, utility bills and bank statements. The Vista palette gives icons a much lighter and fresher look that we are used to in XP.

Megos AG

Megos wanted a color-coded set of icons for their software. A suite of applications each has an application icon of a distinct color. The icons inside each application use primarily the same color. The 48x48 pixel icons look fantastic.

This new interior design site is the latest venture form the team behind lastminute.com. The brief was to create monochrome icons that would match the green and black design of the website.

Gigastudio 3

Gigastudio 3 from Tascam is a powerful piece of audio sampling and sequencing software. They needed icons that would match its existing user interface which resembles brushed-steel mixing decks with red and green lights and realistic knobs and sliders.

Endorphin

Endorphin by NaturalMotion is is "dynamic motion synthesis". Put simply, it is a 3-D character animation tool that uses Artificial Intelligence to bring virtual actors to life. It was used in the movies Troy and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The brief was for a set subtly colored 3-D icons that could convey complex 3-D actions and even emotions on the virtual stunt-persons.

PayPal

PayPal needed some icons for their internal call management software, and I was happy to oblige. It's just as vital that internally-deployed software has good quality, clear icons; your employees are as important as your customers. PayPal's corporate blue color is used extensively.

Biotage

Biotage needed icons that could show the amount of liquid in solvent jars and waste containers. The icons had to carefully imitate real-life vessels, but still be able to show the solvent level. An example of an icon representing a state rather than a function.

Edgecam Version 9

Pathtrace's Edgecam V9 is a high-tech piece of software requiring icons that can covey complex lathe and milling operations, and all in a limited palette. 3-D rendering software was used for many of the icons here, often coupled with hand-drawn 2-D elements.

Application Icons

Here is a selection of application icons I have created. XP icons need to be in nine different formats: 48x48, 32x32, and 16x16 pixel sizes, and 32-bit, 256, and 16 color.
